Since moving to California two years ago, Finian and Ciaran Makepeace have
teamed with long-time friend and bassist Conor Gaffney to perform their upbeat
acoustic music, in venues from San Francisco to San Diego. Currently residing
in LA, Finian and Ciaran will reunite this summer with their brothers, Aidan
and Liam to collaborate on The Makepeace Brothers’ debut CD. The four Makepeace Brothers grew up in the vibrant music community of Ithaca,
N.Y. Although they have been singing and playing music together for most of
their lives, the brothers were first inspired to write their own songs during
a year-long motorhome tour of the US. This trip gave them direct contact with
a wide range of American Roots music and the musicians who play it – from
bluegrass in North Carolina to Jazz in New Orleans. Their musical and
cultural horizons were broadened further by exposure to African, Latin, and
Celtic music at summer festivals in New York State, as well as by their
experiences as exchange students in Costa Rica, Brazil and England
