BIOGRAPHY In 2009, long-time band mates Pat Rossi and Jesse Zito, had a vision of writing an album with a sound which would push the boundaries of modern rock music, embrace and exploit pop culture with catchy melodies and ripping guitar riffs and experiment with electronic sounds and sequences. In order to bring their music to life, the duo joined forces with Gautier Marinof , an engineer/producer who worked alongside the eminent Bob Rock at Montreal’s very own Studio Piccolo. As melodies rang in his head for months, Rossi first-handedly collaborated on producing and recording songs for the upcoming album, opting to create something different, something more vulnerable exposing himself like never before. Once the tunes were completed, Rossi and Zito were ready to take their music to the masses. Rossi called on longtime college buddy Joey Ranallo on bass and well re-known drummer Max Zinno to join The Falling. The two new but well experienced members would create the solid foundation needed to properly demonstrate and project the songs live while capturing the same momentum and vision that Rossi and Zito had created in studio months earlier. As one of Montreal’s most promising up and coming bands, the four bandmates are no rookies to the music scene. Rossi and Zito were featured on numerous television and radio interviews such at CTV News, Entertainment Spotlight, MusiquePlus, and CHOM 97.7fm Made In Canada, just to name a few. In 2005, Rossi and Zito also had the unique opportunity to open for Bon Jovi at the Montreal Bell Center after winning the XM satellite radio songwriting competition with their former band One Away. Zinno, formerly signed to Atlantic Records, brings much more to the table than just drum sticks and a snare. After spending some time in L.A. writing and recording with his former band Pulse Ultra and appearing on the Ozfest tour in 2002, Zinno established his name as one of the best drummers in the industry. Ranallo, another well achieved and well experienced musician has played in some of Montreal’s most elite and prestigious clubs such as Club Soda, Metropolis and Café Campus. After years of mastering the art of writing and recording and performing live, he realized he was ready to embark on a journey which would take his musical career to the next level, hence answering to the call of The Falling. “The Falling” is Rossi’s depiction of his past musical experiences. He dedicated the name to the history to remember that they must never regret the past, however they should hold on to it for the teacher it has become. With their first single “Tomorrow Is Not Enough”, the band hopes that their message will be heard loud and clear. A mix of religion versus science is a common theme throughout the song and album. Rossi’s opening line, ”Are you there? Give me something to believe in when God’s not around,”is a hint that society can easily be swayed into believing in anything other than a one true God thanks to science. At the risk of being contreversial, the band believes that music can stimulate and educate society into considering new theories based on life and creation. The Falling’s EP is scheduled for release this summer which will contain 6 songs. The band plans to follow up their EP with their complete album once the music is well received by the masses.
