The Evening began as a project between classically trained twins Ben and Brian Goodman to mix the contemporary sounds of pop and dance with classic rock. What transpired was a new sound, infectious dance rock, a successful synthesis between the catchiness of modern pop, the energy of heavy metal, and something clearly unique on the music scene.
“We don’t just want to be another band that conforms to what everyone else is doing,” claims Ben Goodman (vocals, guitar, piano), “what makes a band who we are is how they take the music they` love and make it their own. I love Iron Maiden just as much as I love Queen just as much as I love Lady Gaga.” This is clearly inherent in the music which ranges from hard rock sensibilities to dance floor anthems. Paul Lourenco (drums, guitars) and Andrew Malkin (bass) make up a formidable rhythm section, creating driving rhythms with dance grooves that compliment Brian’s atmospheric keys and Ben’s intense guitar playing. The Evening may draw from many musical influences, but they create a sound that sticks out among the crowd, lending memorable melodies and timeless musical prowess to a scene that needs all of the love it can get.
