The Dance Inc. – „Legs And Arms“Finally! For four years The Dance Inc. have been spooking through the subconscious of the German pop scene. Two vibrant EPs and countless concerts, hymns of praise from the press, hushed rumors and the notion that something great is happening – all that left us anxious on what is to come, waiting for the big bang to happen. But we had to wait longer and longer. The Dance Inc. appeared and disappeared again in short flashes, strangely unreachable. And now, finally, the band is complete. The first album: here! „Legs and Arms“ What happened all the while in Hamburg? The Dance Inc. morphed slowly but steadily from the synthesizer-heavy Soft Cell-esque duo of Jan Elbeshausen and Stefan Paul Goetsch to an organic live band. Andrè Frahm joined the band in 2005 on drums. Everything fitted perfectly and only a short while later, producer Tobias Levin (Tocotronic, Kante, Slut etc.) took notice of The Dance Inc. Sharing the same enthusiasm for each others work, they decided to record the first album together. The band locked itself into the rehearsal room and worked relentlessly on their vision of pop music. The music should be glittering in its very own sheen – both fragile and confident, bouncing gracefully across the streets, if you know what we mean. They were ready to break for new ground. In the summer of 2006 they entered Levin's studio, the „Electric Avenue“ and undertook an exciting journey, full of challenges, dangers and moments filled with soul. It ended happily. This is the result. „Legs And Arms. And how are we supposed to describe that?First, its pop, of course. And from now on its like catching a fox with bare hands. The Dance Inc. are made for the dance floor, but they are no electronic live act. They are a band with vocals, drums, bass, guitars, loops and samples. An organic entity supercharged with electricity. Torn between the synthetic and pure soul, digitalism and rock, liedkunst and loops. The distinguished elegance of 80ties glamour pop meets the driving escapism of modern electronica in songs full of beauty and clarity, grace and urgency, songs that shine and shimmer like snow underneath a mirror ball.
