Special guests include members of Oranger, Beulah, Game Theory/Loud Family and pedal steel genius Joe Goldmark.Amplifiermagazine.com said: "The Bye Bye Blackbirds have made a record for the ages." Our new album, Houses & Homes, was released on the American Dust label in September 2008. Recorded at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco and New, Improved Recording in Oakland, Houses & Homes is a showcase for the marriage of intricate harmonies with intelligent songcraft and eclectic, inventive production. Its nine songs cover a wide range from moody acoustic folk (the Ian Robertson sung "Shed The Skin") to country-tinged power pop ("The Ghosts Are Alright"). Lyrically rich and melodically inspired, Houses & Homes is a mature, fully realized statement of artistic arrival. American Dust will also be making a new digital e.p. available for free download. The Apology Accepted e.p. features our cover of The Go-Betweens' classic, a song written for last year's Jonathan Lethem reading (with lyrics from his novel You Don't Love Me Yet) and two acoustic demos.
