"Grab your bibles, open wide, and watch us set em ablaze. Light em up...time to say goodbye to all this shame. We are humans - undiluted - you will know us by name. We are, we are, we are THE BIBLE FIRE." Through the vision of singer / songwriter Rob Halstead and guitarist Grant Scruggs, the Fort Worth based progressive hard rock band The Bible Fire was formed in 2005. With a handful of songs and an endless stream of creative ideas, this endeavor was originated purely as a studio side project. But after the 2006 release of "The Spread of Weakness" EP, the reviews came in and everything changed. In the June 18th, 2008 issue of the Fort Worth Weekly, The Bible Fire received critical acclaim as one of the best "Avant Garde / Experimental" bands of the year (http://archive.fwweekly.com/content.asp?article=6984). Riding this wave of new found success, the decision was made by both of these artists to put aside their other musical endeavors and put all their focus and efforts on this new band. As 2008 wound down, Rob and Grant, with new material in hand, ambitiously went back in to the studio to begin work on their first full length album. Partnering with Junk Science Productions, months of writing, recording, and sound editing resulted in the 2010 release of "The Pursuit of Imperfection". Shortly thereafter, drummer Chris Isaacs joined the band and quickly became the missing piece to the puzzle. For years, Rob, Grant and Chris have actively participated in a variety of different projects both live and in studio. Individually, these three artists are highly skilled in stage production (sound and lighting), recording engineering, and audio editing. The Bible Fire is primarily influenced by The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Tool, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails. Instrumentation: Rob Halstead - Lead Vocals / Bass Grant Scruggs - Guitars / Vocals Chris Isaacs - Drums Discography: The Spread of Weakness (ep), 2006 The Pursuit of Imperfection (lp), 2010
