In the Spring of 2007 Joshua Hawksley moved to NYC from Kentucky to pursue his dream of being a singer/songwriter. Though unemployed, Hawksley survived by performing in subway stations and open mic lounges.
Meanwhile NYC based drummer Ian Pierce and guitarist Stephen Sannicandro had teamed up and began writing together. Pierce and Sannicandro were familiar with each other’s work from previous projects in the local scene.
By chance while in route to a local bar, Pierce discovered Hawksley performing in the 42nd street (Times Square) subway station. Pierce recognized the raw talent Hawksley displayed and introduced himself immediately. Before long all three musicians were working collectively, each member contributing their individual flavor, that together comprised The August Infinity sound.
The lineup was finally complete with the addition of bassist Chris Moss after the band saw him performing in a local guitar hero championship.
The August Infinity currently rehearses in Williamsburg Brooklyn and recently finished their debut album “Voices of a Generation”. Everything on the album was written, recorded, mixed and produced solely by the band in the confines of their nyc apartments.
