SHALIEK ~A Legacy in The Making~ In an age of microwave success, and fly by night artists, it is easy to appreciate those that steadily build a career. With a rapidly growing internet popularity, an international presence, and a foundation in conceptual songwriting, The Bronx’s own Shaliek embodies the establishment of a new vibe, and the building of a Legacy. With influences like Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, and Michael Jackson, it was actually a drum-playing father and a singing mother who served as early anchors to Shaliek’s love for music. After winning countless school talent shows and musical showcases,And also a winner at SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO. Shaliek landed the backup singing gig for the legendary James Brown at the 2002 MTV Music Awards and opened for the Multi-platinum Ashanti in Atlantic City. It wasn’t long before industry notables started to take notice and Shaliek signed a development deal through Universal Records, which eventually turned into a major label deal. Buzz worthy single “Get 2 Know Ya” featuring Juvenile was birthed from this business marriage and soon after, Shaliek’s vocals and writing ability were both being brought to the mainstream forefront. “Ask people like Multi Platinum producer Harvey Mason Jr. or Jason Jordan” (Hollywood Records). Anybody who knows me knows that right now I’m already thinking of song ideas to write.” Shaliek recently landed a Publishing deal and created The Hitterzz alongside fellow East Coast penman Cashus C.R.E.A.M. The Hitterzz then landed "One Night Only” On the Day 26 2009 No. 1 Debut, Forever In A Day. “We don’t rely on the beat or the big names to carry the song. Our songs are always concept driven so that originality and realness is what takes our writing to the next level.” Shaliek was also busy collaborating with Pharrell Williams’ group The Clipse, Sony BMG’s The DEY, Interscope’s Kaci Brown, and Mariah Carey singing partner Trey Lorenz. He later became the newest management acquisition to Organize Entertainment Group. Shaliek’s “next level” approach has even attracted the production of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, as well as other industry notables such as Denise Rich, Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean. Most recently Shaliek’s “Rivers of New York” mix tape, has been made available for download while his pen and voice gives the game a much needed up grade. “I've never been more ready to share my music with the world.
