Hmm...I found Ourstage via a Lillith Fair competition and I'm really happy to be here! A little about me: I'm from New York and I live in LA. I grew up singing and playing piano and French Horn and went to college for opera. Loved singing but opera wasn't really the right style for me, so I picked up guitar and started writing songs. After years of touring around the US in my car and a few independent releases, I started posting videos on YouTube in May of 2006. I won the first YouTube Award for Best Music Video in 2006, signed with Universal Publishing and Island Records, released an album in the UK, was the only new artist to play Live Earth at Wembley Stadium and it was a crazy wonderful experience, toured the UK with The Fray and Martha Wainwright and played a bunch of festivals, and basically had an awesome time in London for 14 months. And then things changed and it seemed like a good time to leave my label (my A&R left, I didn't like my album, needed new management and a general overhaul of my entire life and career) so I moved back to LA to start over with new music and a new team. I toured the US again in October and November of 2009, this time on a 100% fan-funded tour, and then toured India and Italy, also completely funded and organized by my amazing fans. I played the first rock concert in Kashmir and played sold out opera houses in Italy. Returned to LA, started talking to people and meeting with labels and got some weird offers and had some interesting experiences which I will someday share with the world cos they're just that odd, and am meeting with people in the business and figuring out my next moves. That's where I am now. Well, actually, right now at this very moment I'm in a hotel in Ottawa, touring the US and Canada for 6 weeks, opening for Michael Bolton. He's a cool dude and a really talented vocalist and performer. I'm impressed. And I love the people on this tour, so I'm really happy. And now I've found Ourstage. Cool. I like what I've seen so far.
