Love you to death, - Televandals
It seems this would be as good a time as any to announce it. Some of you already know about this, some of you saw the latest post on our calender, but just to make it official and public: we are about to begin recording our full length album!
We begin on September first. All the sonic goodness that you’ve heard at our live show will be included, as well as several new tracks that we are finishing up now and preparing to debut live (as if you needed more reason to come out to our upcoming shows). And keep an eye out, because we just might put up a little something for you to feast your ears on prior to the release. No release date(s) as yet, but we’re about to get this sucker underway. Stay tuned, big things are on the way.
As a side note, we have decided to discontinue our Zazzle merch store. Zazzle.com charges astronomical prices for their products, very little of which the artist even sees. While we understand the high costs of custom merch printing, we wouldn’t feel right charging our fans $15 or more for a t-shirt under any circumstances, let alone one where the distributor uses inflated pricing to make an obscene profit off the dedication of the fans who are the heart and soul of the music. It is insinuative of a corporate driven agenda and the turning of music and artists into no more than a commodity. That is a concept we refuse to support or take part in. We are currently looking for other ways to provide all of our fans with merch at a reasonable price. As soon as we make this a reality, we will let you all know. We will also be releasing new merch designs very soon, so get ready.
Keep disrupting the powers that be and fighting for social equality!
- Televandals
Yes, it’s true. After seven months, four rounds, 74 initial bands, and three judges, this Sunday Televandals won the Boston/New England regional finals of the international Emergenza festival and were named Emergenza’s “best band in New England”. In addition, our very own Ride-Out won the award for best drummer in New England (because that’s how he rolls). The next day we competed in the Eastern US finals and came in third overall. Needless to say we are excited…..really freaking excited. This has been our greatest achievement yet as a band and there is no way we could have done it without the support of our friends and fans. Thank you so much, all of you. Whether you are from New England and pack the house when we play or 5000 miles away and get the word out to everybody you know about us, you are the ones that make this all possible. We’re starting to feel like the world is the limit. Things are moving really fast now for us so stay tuned – because if things continue on like this, it won’t be long before you’ll be seeing us in your city, regardless of what corner of the world you live on!
We love you all, - Televandals
We present to you the official announcement:
DISSENT is a new rotating electro/synth rock dance party in the city, occurring roughly once a month at different venues and on different nights. It will feature a mixture of DJs, live bands, and hybrid acts with Televandals always playing a set and acting as the host/promoter. The first installment of DISSENT will happen on May 16th at The Fortune Cookie Cabaret in the East Village and will be featuring a full bill of five bands and a DJ. Future parties will include more DJ-centric nights, battles, tag-team sets, and even possibly listening parties. This night is all about bringing together the electronic and live music scenes under one roof. We are already talking about having Boston installments of DISSENT as well as the night grows. We pretty much plan to make this thing huge. So dress to impress, adorn yourselves in neon, crank up the volume and get ready to go fucking crazy.
This is our dissent. What’s yours?
P.S. If you are a band or DJ interested in playing an installment of DISSENT, contact us at booking@televandals.com
