This isn't just a martial art philosophy or a music philosophy its a life philosophy. My influences are varied. I steal from everybody. I'm just keeping it real. I will give credit to two bass players that have made me who I am as a bassist. I will give credit to Jermaine Jackson of the Jackson Five. He planted the seed in me because back in the day he was the coolest looking bassist on the scene. The other is Verdine White of Earth Wind and Fire. Verdine taught me how to listen, and be melodic. He taught me about the pocket and locking in with the drums and percussion, even the horn section at times.
