Hi, my name is Sydney LeDoux. I'm a soul, country, alternative singer/songwriter from Thorold, Ontario, Canada. I believe that writing and performing music is a poetic way of displaying a person's emotions, and past experiences. It's mind, it's heart, and of course music is LIFE. I am currently in the studio recording my first album entitled "My Fate" which is a collection of songs about my experiences, my emotions, and my journey to becoming the young woman who finally believes in making her dreams a reality. Above you will find a few of my current songs during there progression. I started singing when I was about 6 years old after hearing talented artists such as Jewel, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston. On top of music I was in love Musicals such as Grease :) I knew one day I was going to be a singer, even if I didn't suceed. Growing up with My favorite icon, Christina Aguilera, I studied her music to teach myself how to sing. Which landed me solos in school musicals. On top of singing, I was obsessed with drama and took any chance I could to be involved with both. High school came around and I was a pretty shy, lonely girl. I had few friends, but found myself an outcast to a lot of people at my school. So I put my singing dream on hold and buried myself in the drama department in hope that one day I would be an famous actress haha. As shy as I was in person, I was untouchable on stage. I guess I'm just a little bit dramatic, and always felt the need to be sarcastic and funny on stage. At 17 years old after singing in a handful of school functions, a friend of mine asked me to go try out for Canadian Idol in Hamiton. I hadn't auditioned for anything seriously in my entire life, and believed my voice wasn't powerful enough to get somewhere. I took a chance, and after making the first 3 auditions, I landed a ticket to Toronto which pretty much disposed any doubt I had in my voice. I was so nervous when Toronto came, that I found myself over whelmed from pressure and was cut. The experience taught me that I had the potential to do anything, I just needed the drive to do it. So I kept singing whenever and wherever I got the chance. After I graduated from High School I was so unsure of what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be an actress, I wanted to study musical theatre, but found myself taking General Studies at Niagara College. I spent that entire year discovering who I was, and became exposed to people, places, and opportunities I'd never dealt with before. Let's just say I became a little less nieve, haha. I decided not to return to Niagara and to take a chance on music. Finally I put my heart into something worth caring about. I've been playing the guitar now for the past 4 months, and writing my own songs, hoping one day I can get something great out of it. And that something is to become a person who understands herself, and willing to leave behind regrets, and unhappiness and start a new. After all there is no better feeling than loving yourself for who you are, and living your life to the fullest.
