… so i am here in north carolina working. not music.. well i am writing but my reason for coming is to help my parents for a show they have. they work in the furniture industry and i am helping them out with set up! there is so much furniture moving involed!

its been fun.. i am staying in a great house.. there’s good food (they hire a chef to cook french gourmet food the whole time)

i will hopefully get some time tonight to write a bit on the piano!

i wanted to let everyone know that i’ll be playing CMJ Festival this year at 11:00PM at the living room on saturday oct 25. it should be fun.. there is an awesome line up. if you have never been to the living room, it is an awesome venue and CMJ is a fun tine with parties.. shows.. friends! i hope to see some of you out there!

until then.. sydney

so it has been way over a month since i last wrote… i have been in and out of the studio recording a second album… we have been traveling to boston for most of the recording at squid hell studios and then doing some overdubs in new york! i hope i can post a few mp3s on ourstage soon! they are almost done (as far as recording goes) and then they need to be mixed and mastered. check back for some music updates soon!

be well, syd

thanks to the lovely quinn strassel my song “papa don’t worry” will be on npr today! i played the newport folk festival earlier this month and quinn introduced me to the team of npr folks that stationed themselves by the mid sized tent to watch jakob dylan, she and him, jim james, cat power and more.

i basically stationed myself there as well! it was a great line up! it started to rain in the middle of she and him and it made the show that much better. when i say rain.. i mean pouring rain.. people were soaked! it was great!

so we are going to drive up to newport tonight for the folk festival… we are borrowing our friend’s van which is HUGE so it should be a nice ride! last time we all piled into a van it was so tiny that people were stuck in one position for 3 hours because if they moved it would have been disastrous. we have been working on some new songs for the last little while and are excited to play them tomorrow. we are playing at 11:30 on the waterside stage.

just to let you know.. we are about half way done with a new album… i’m not sure exactly when it will be released but there will be some new music up on my ourstage and myspace pages so you should check it out! ill keep you posted on any other updates! take care
