Who or what is a SubZero617...........
SubZero617 is best described as a fan of self expression and a son of Hiphop. It’s hard to put a title on what he does so we’ll just call it self expression.

Musical background
His first exposure to music was at church. His family attended a Pentecostal church in Roxbury called the Church of God in Christ. Only gospel music was allowed in his house but by the age of 6 he had already fell in love with Hiphop. Sub’s favorite songs as a child were “Top Billin’” by Milk D and “I’m Badd” LLCoolJ.
Between the ages of 8 and 14 Sub also learned to play basic songs on the piano, violin, recorder, flute and clarinet.
Sub spit rhymes publicly for the first time at age 11. His friends all agreed that he had a talent beyond his years.
Sub learned to play the drums expertly by the age of 12 and began reading sheet music at 13.
At the age of 17 Sub bought his first set of Gemini turntables. He and his best friend DJ Halfmoon used to practice new scratches every day and record mixtapes for the neighborhood.
SubZero617 had never considered himself a recording artist yet he had been recording his musical expressions for recreation since the age of 10.
Why Ourstage?
In 2005 Sub had a new found lease on life due to some personal experiences. He decided to change the way he lived his life by spending more time doing the things that he loved. This lead to the start of the Ovamotorvated Dvd. Sub was the cameraman, the interviewer and the editor for the Dvd. Sub encouraged his friends whom he felt were even more talented than he was to pursue their dreams and take their musical talents seriously. Subsequently Sub became sort of a manager and publicist for a few artists.
Breaking into a saturated market and separating yourself is hard work. Sub knew this, but the reality turned off some of his friends from pursuing their dreams. In 2006 Sub began pursuing his own musical interests in hopes to “Motorvate” his friends whom he believed in deeply.
Sub started off by posting some mixes he had done at home to Myspace. The music was well received and in a few months he had some regular followers in Philly, New Jersey and parts of the U.K. Sub soon became more aggressive about sharing his music and in 2007 began posting to sites like Reverbnation and Ourstage. Originally Sub tried to out think the system on Ourstage to boost his rankings but it didn’t work. Sub gave up on the idea of rigging the vote and subsequently his songs moved up the charts anyway.
In 2007 Sub exhausted his resources while financing the Ovamotorvated Dvd out of his own pocket and was forced to focus on finding an alternative means to finance a musical career. After two years of being inactive on the net Sub is back to finish what he started. Two years wiser and even more “motorvated”. Ourstage is a great place to start.
Biggest Compliment: You have the drive of P Diddy and the unpredictability of O.D.B. and enough skill to keep up with anybody.
Toughest Criticism: Your sound is amateur. You need professional mixing to get ahead.
