SUBZERO617
SUBZERO'S MOTORVATION: As a not-so-young anymore entrepenuer it was a tough lessen for me to learn but over the last two years I've had alot of time to reflect and now I'm more ready than ever to tackle the "Green Monsta" we call "The Industry". A house divided against itself can not stand but anything built on a strong, solid foundation crafted carefully over time will take just as long to destroy as it did to create. At the risk of sounding cocky, I am a diamond surfacing through the ruff and Ovamotorvated is a concept that has stood the test of time years have passed and hard work is still the ethic. I personally had always seen myself as a behind the scenes player, a puppet master of sorts. I know now that that can't be. I can never be an inspiration to others without first walking the path that I speak about so here I am putting on my shoes and walking my first mile. As a critic, I often comment on how a rapper's album could've been better or how a certain video could've been cut different. In the past, I have especially been adamant about telling artists to do for themselves and get off the "waiting to get signed" crutch. But now, instead of talking about it, I'm living it. Watch me work!!
"Everythangz a ruff draft"....you're gonna hear me say this alot....because it's true!
The video posted here on Ourstage:
S.U.B.Z.E.R.O this is a simple font video I created using basic software. I couldn't get all the fonts on the screen at one time so it actually took several drafts to get it where it is now. The one posted on Ourstage is actually version 2.1 The song itself is entitled S.U.B.Z.E.R.O and originally appeared on "The Streetz Mixtape Part 1".
The songs posted here on Ourstage.
So Amazing Remix III. This is an original R&B track featuring Shannyn. I got the track from DJ Halfmoon. At the time that I got it it was incomplete. The song writer had only written one verse and a chorus and the second verse was wide open. I felt that it was a great opportunity for my leading artist Dionysious to show his diversity. I immediately commissioned Dionysious to write and perform a verse for it and give it more of a hiphop feel. Dionysious caught a writer's block and I ended up writing and recording for it. When the project was done I fell in love with it.
Long Range. This song I originally performed at a talent show in high school believe it or not. It wasn't until several years later hanging in the studio with my producer J. Anderson that I would be motorvated to record it. We were just relaxin' and Jarves was doing his warm up thing that he always does (he just sits and listens to beats til he's in the mood). When he played the instrumental that we now call Long Range I knew I just had to get on it. The verse and the hook fit the beat perfectly. The song was complete when Slim Pickens agreed to do the second verse. It took Slim about five minutes to pick a verse that would fit the song. The rest as they say....is history. Everybody loves that song but to this day I call it a "ruff draft". You know how that goes...
Hour Glass. This is another J. Anderson classic. If you ask me the beat alone carries itself but when you add the catchy hook it's a wrap! I really think I could've farted on this record and it would've still sounded good. Special thanks to L-Product who was commisioned to write a second verse for this. There's a version of this song on "Ev'rythangz A Ruff Draft" but the full length feature version will be released the summer of 2008.
Horny. This is my first attempt at producing a beat. The quality of this recording leaves alot to be desired. it was originally recorded for the purpose of having a draft to listen to until I memorized the verse. The verse is a really tricky one and in order to be delivered properly it has to be memorized first. "Ev'rythangz a ruff draft" so you KNOW that it is still a work in progress. When I came across the College Clash on Ourstage I decided to test out the concept on the that channel and test out how the song would be received. The song actually got some votes and was favorited a couple of times. From that I decided to keep the song up. It is currently competing in TECHNO/Club/Dance.

While judging the Hiphop channel....

I came across the following songs. ALL of which are worth taking a listening to. Check ‘em out. If you like them you should tell the artist. I’m sure he/she will appreciate it.
