The band came together in late December 2007. The two friends Ezra Schepis, and Josh Lubovich were tired of being in bands that weren't really going anywhere with their music, and never recorded their songs. A couple months before Suburban Streetlight was formed Josh had left his band the Knockabouts, a mediocre punk band that he played drums for, for creative differences with his band mates. Ezra also left his band he was the singer for No Free Refills shortly after for the same reason. When Josh and Ezra started playing music together they just played acoustic versions of songs from their favorite bands. Ezra started to write pages and pages of lyrics in his old notebook. In January the band made its first attempt at recording Happy Ending with just an electric bass, a percussion microphone, and Josh's laptop computer. It didn't turn out to be as good as they had hoped.Taking a different approach to they're recording style they downloaded a basic beat creating program called Fruity Loops Studio 7. Still not completely satisfied with their style, they went back to they're roots and incorporated acoustic guitar into some of their songs. This not only gave most of they're songs a better sound but it enabled them to play these songs live. The acoustic version of happy ending came to be their most popular live song, followed by I Gave Up, and Strangers. They still have yet to record all of they're acoustic versions due to lack of time because of school and work. Still whenever they have the free time they are working on beats, lyrics, and guitar, amongst other musical activities. Now they are just waiting for summer to hit so they can put together some local shows, instead of just playing to small groups of people and friends on occasion.
