Hi everyone, As you may be aware, Basement Sessions is a bi-monthly podcast based in Birmingham, UK. The podcast was established early 2009 by Street Soul Productions, a record label based in Birmingham, London, Ipswich and California.

We are looking to run a live event in Birmingham at the Rainbow Warehouse on the 12th September 2009.

We want the event to promote the incredible talent in the city, but also unite everyone and promote the Love Music Hate Racism movement.

The event (If successful!) will run every 6 months, each time involving great talent from around the country and supporting unity.

We want to bring Birmingham to the forefront of the the musical landscape with your help.

We are pushing to get funding for this event but first we need 200 people to sign the pledge to prove interest!

Hey everyone. Vice has been in the UK Hip Hop scene for a while now, and is slowly getting recognised for all the ground work he has made.

In the UK there are a couple of sites that chart the scene’s movers and shakers. One of the most prestigious is Britishhiphop.co.uk

For over 15 years they have been heavily involved in the Hip Hop scene, and last week Vice of Street Soul was approached to do an interview.

Evening all!

It’s been a quick minute since Street Soul joined the Our Stage movement. Like alot of you we are finding it a crazy site, in both a good and bad way!

Anyway, one thing we have found is an incredible bed of artists who are talented, driven and up for collaborating.

On that tip, this week Street Soul finished a collab with dope lyricist Cognition from Huntington. The track is produced by Vice, and features the incredible vocal talents of Carvalho. Entitled “Time Keeps Slippin”, Cognition flows over the beat with his signature conscious and heart felt lyrics.

The track will be uploaded soon enough so stay tuned for that one.

In addition, there are planned collaborations with – Oddsquaad, Rowdee Methodz, Verbal Architect, & Shawn Cayce

Also, Gee Whiz has supplied a couple of beats for the Street Soul team to work on, so more on that in the near future.

Finally, if you weren’t aware, d. C. the current number one in the production channel and recent feature on AOL music is a part of the Street Soul family! (check out the slick dude in the Trilby hat in the pictures!) He’s an outstanding Cali based producer who has / and is working with the likes of NY Oil, Fokis, Darkim Be Allah (Wu Tang International), Boston legend J The S and MANY MANY MORE!!!!
