Founders of the Stereolizza band – vocalist and writer of lyrics Katya Shalayeva and Alex Ginchev (music and programming). Katya is an attractive blonde girl with background in a nice family. Until her music career swept in, she used to lead a life of a “good girl” and graduated from a prestigious university with a major in International Relations. No one could seriously think that Katya would soon break all stereotypes about Diplomatic School graduates and would become a hip-hop performer. She feels better writing and performing music that she likes then leading a “normal life.” At that time she was singing in a High School group and Alex was playing in another band, called "Scoobie Doo". One day the two musicians performed at the same festival. Katya met Alex at the after-party, and when it turned out they had so much in common, they understood they must work together and created a new band, called "Stereolizza" later. “X.Y.Z.”, “Corporate Logic” and “When You Are Here” are the three singles of Stereolizza that quickly gained popularity in many European countries. The “X.Y.Z.” song was 8 in yearly chart of Top40-charts, which is one of the most popular web-charts, based on the results of national charts of 25 European countries. The “Corporate Logic” was put on the Universal Music Group weekly show-reel in October 2006. The band's three music videos that were in top 10 “International Hits” chart of American music TV-channel “International Music Feed”. All the videos were heavily rotated on Ukrainian, Polish, Russian and American TV-channels: M1, O-TV, RU-Music (Ukraine), Viva and MTV (Poland), MTV (Russia), IMF (U.S.A.). In 2006 the debut album “X-amine Your Zippa” was released in Ukraine, Poland, Russia and Middle East. It included 11 songs, combining pop-music, hip-hop and electro. The music style of the album reminds of the Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Gwen Stefani. Stereolizza is also an actively performing artist. The band performed at various festivals of Europe, playing on one stage with Sean Paul, Chemical Brothers and Apollo 440. In 2006 the Black Eyed Peas management selected Stereolizza as opening act at the BEP concert in Kiev. In 2007 “X.Y.Z.” and “Corporate Logic” songs attracted the attention of American TV and film producers. “X.Y.Z.” became a soundtrack of “Moonlight Show. Episode 13” and the Lifetime program “A Side Order Of Life”, and “Corporate Logic” was picked as a soundtrack to the feature film “Forever Strong” (sport’s drama). In August 2008 the group moved to the United States. Here they play live gigs (“The Viper Room”, “Whisky A Go Go”, “Rasputin”, “Avalon”), now recording a new album, the release of which is expected in the end of 2008.
