I’ve been wandering ‘round this site and found some interesting things. In the Guitar Solo contest I have heard some amazing players, and some that were not so technically mind-boggling yet very musical and tasteful (mind-boggling in other ways). The latter will frequently find themselves in high places here on OurStage – which says alot about the people who live here. I was also a bit surprised to see the overall winner from March was from the New Age/World category. In so many other places it’s alt-rock or hip-hop or pop. The tastes here are pretty eclectic and I dig that alot.

Sunday I threw a CD release party at my wife’s dance studio. I had a great time, sold some CDs, played some guitar, jammed with some friends. It’s a great way to spread the word and get your friends involved in the word-of-mouth process.
Here’s an idea – get as many of your friends as possible to post a link to your web page on their blog page or myspace page. Many of you are already doing that and more – I’d like to hear some more ideas.
