My name is Stephanie Winters and I am a 19 year old unsigned singer/songwriter/guitarist from a small town in North Carolina. I taught myself how to play guitar, ganjo, dulcimer, and the mandolin. I started playing the guitar when I was 14 and have had a passion for music ever since. My style of music has very strong roots in Country Music but also has a Folk and Americana twist. However, I listen to all styles of music because there are so many stories to be told through music; stories of love, hurt and heartbreak, living Life to the Fullest, being the life of the party, or being alone and lonely. I find it very satisfying to listen to others stories, and find new ways to look at life.
For me there is somewhat of a magical aspect to songwriting. You write these songs in your home, alone or maybe in the presence of few people; your pouring your heart out on this piece of paper and in this music you compose. Then you leave your heart open, and set your heart before the world to let them hear it's beat, it's song, and you hope others gain something from it. That is what I want—to connect with people on another level.
My biggest influences are Keith Urban, The Civil Wars, Miranda Lambert, Adele, Eric Church, John Mayer, The Band Perry, Norah Jones, Don Williams, Vince Gill, Doc Watson, and The Black Lillies.
Music is my life and I wouldn't change a thing about it :)
