Co-founders Jeff Adams, a well-known Washington DC area guitarist formerly with Face Dancer (EMI) who wrote their ‘80’s hit, “Red Shoes” and drummer Steve Behrendt formerly with guitarist Les Dudek (Stevie Nicks, Steve Miller, Boz Scaggs, Allman Brothers), Andy Taylor (Duran Duran) and many others joined up in late 2004 to begin building the band they always wanted. Calling on Boston native and vocalist/guitarist extraordinaire, Jerry Martinez, they packed up their gear and headed to Los Angeles, to record with Carole King producer, Rudy Guess. Blending their many different influences, Starkey Drive fuses together a mixture of Roots Rock and Blues with an emphasis on catchy hooks and some seriously good playing. The result is one of the best new bands out of the DC area.
