Matt Johnson, aka Standard is a Cleveland, OH native with some Denver, CO in his blood at the same time. Growing up in the neighborhoods of 123rd and superior and 115th and St. Clair, this young man still refused to become prey to the streets. Standard attended Maple Heights and Glenville High Schools while living in Ohio but graduated high school from Lakewood in Colorado and went on the achieve his BA degree in business administration. Not knowing the hidden talent he had streaming from his lyrical skills, a close friend Montrayl aka Young Sixx (Standard’s producer) pulled the talent from within and boosted Standard’s first local hit called “Matthead.” Then followed suit with a strong second single called “Yeah Nigga(China Town).” It has been 9 months that Standard has been in the rap game and has performed locally at Wildstyle Tuesdays hosted by Jay Fresh and shows put on by B. Ward(aya entertainment). A strong well-liked freestyle to the Crank dat superman (stayin fresh) proclaimed Standard as a underground local but well-liked artist by many. Never sacrificing his integrity in music; Standard keeps it real, no capp rappin’ on truth spittin’ will always continue to do so. Standard has also had songs played locally in Cleveland, OH, Baltimore, MD, and Patterson, NJ and San Fran, CA (106 kmel).
