From a little girl who was born to sing yet never knew her musical destiny, Sitara Kanhai has emerged and evolved into the true definition of talent and artistry. Born and raised in Trinidad, Sitara Kanhai is a Pop/R&B/Hiphop singer/songwriter and producer who moved with her family to Miami. From one world to the next, music cradled her adjustment to a whole new life. Unconsciously drawn to music, she quickly became involved and was already recognized for her singing ability. She began writing songs to compliment her hunger for her own musical identity. During her last year of high school, Sitara began studying classical piano which led to a continued education in Classical music. She gained a two-year degree in Vocal Performance where she studied Opera. Declining an honorable invitation to continue her vocal studies at a prestigious music school, Sitara began to strongly pursue her vision of a career in commercial music. She has labeled herself as a self-produced artist. Self-taught, Sitara describes producing music as the “cherry on top”. “Writing lyrics helps release, singing a melody gives it fluency, and the music allows others to grasp”, says the new-found songstress. With the angelic movement, dramatic lust, and easy listening of both her music and voice, Sitara Kanhai is a new musical recipe for the world.
