Music has always been one of my passions in life. My first love is being of service to people and music is one of the avenues that allow me to reach a large mass of people. I hope this biography will shed some light on the inner facets of the individual named “SHARIA”. My family environment was and still is the nurturing factor that has guided my path towards servicing others and my great love for music. Since I grew up in a big family, we never skipped a beat on discovering new ways to entertain ourselves. Even as a young child, my siblings and I would perform for our parents and compete against each other. As young as the age of eight, I would write songs, and I have always loved music from all genres from the R&B sounds of Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott to the opposite spectrum of Rock from U2, Maroon 5, The Fall Out Boys, and Kelly Clarkston. As the years passed, I chose to follow another path but never lost my passion for music. In the past, I have had the opportunity to perform at local Atlanta, GA night clubs such as the 20 Grand, The Atrium, The Blue Room, Sabor Lounge as well as being given the opportunity to be an opening act for the R&B singer, FANTASIA. I have also had the pleasure of performing for The Sweet Auburn Fest and local fundraising events that focus on Breast Cancer Awareness. My music is currently being played on select radio stations in Texas, New Jersey and here in Georgia. I have even had the chance to perform on Internet TV as well as host two internet shows. Ultimately, I feel that my purpose in life is to serve others. I have been blessed with the gift of counseling and artistry in music. The similarity of the two interests is that both are essential to healing. Music is a universal language; it breaks down barriers that separate gender, race, religion and other cultural differences. Through my music, I am able to share my gift for healing. Music is very therapeutic for me. It allows me to demonstrate my capacity for counseling without personally meeting an individual. I am able to express love, frustration, anger, and all the many human emotions that people feel in my music. Wherever my spirit moves me, whether it is Gospel, R&B, Classical, Pop, Rock or Country, I allow the music to guide me. That is why I have been told that my music sounds like R&B, Pop, New Age and World Music. I would say it is Progressive Soul because the soul knows no limits. I hope that my music conveys that feeling.
