Exposed to music at a very young age, Shampane began to experiment with his own talents. Growing up with the musical influences of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, LL Cool J, and various other artists, Shampane began to develop a connection between music and life. Shampane's music is derived from personal experiences as well as the various sides of himself. He grew up in the small town of Port Arthur,Tx. which is the hometown of Janis Joplin and UGK. During his highschool years he began training his skills alongside his best friend and colleague,Xscalaba. He went on to be the first person in his family to graduate from high school and go to college. He attended the University of Texas for one semester, then had to leave for various financial and circumstantial reasons. He is not bound to what is mainstream, but to what his creativity can attain.
