SEAGALL were initially formed in Moscow (Russia) by a guitarist and composer Elena Seagalova as her solo instrumental project. They hit the stage for the first time in 2003 and keep performing actively ever since.
The group won several awards on local music festivals. One of their remarkable performances was in 2007 with TRINITY guitar project, when they shared the stage with Victor Smolsky (RAGE).
Having passed through several lineup changes during first 2 years of their existence, from 2005 SEAGALL are a solid foursome:
Elena Seagalova – Guitar; Alexander Sinitsyn – Guitar; Khaled – Bass; Ilya Lipatov – Drums.
SEAGALL’s debut album, “Illusions” was released in October 2008 on CD-MAXIMUM, one of Russia’s largest record labels.
Having finished their work on “Illusions”, SEAGALL’s musicians mutually agreed on evolving the group from Elena’s solo project towards more shared concept, where all participants have more input in composing and arranging. With renewed group’s vision SEAGALL started writing the material for their second album. Some tracks are already finished and included in band’s set list. Musically, SEAGALL are beyond traditional guitar rock boundaries, they borrow different elements from blues, funk, jazz rock, and even celtic folk. «We wouldn’t like to lock our music in fixed stylistic measures. It could be defined as ‘rock’, but mostly because of musical and sound means we use, not because of its style or form. Our main objective is to deliver emotions and images we put in our music to the audience. How successful we are in this, only you can judge…»
