Start date: 2008. At this very moment of their career, Scotch Ale are exactly how they wish to be: happy and distilled. Recently back from their trip to the States, they taste like an irresistible flavor transplanted into foreign land. That’s why listening to them gives you the reassuring feeling of a well-known flavor that surprises repeatedly with unexpected pitches and tunes. Melodic solutions can be easily taken in; the sense of rhythm will have you tapping your foot to the groove. The firing music is so palpable that it becomes contagious. What you don’t expect is an apparently predictable chorus turning into an unexpected take-off towards dizzy rhythms; that kind of whim hiding ironic undertones, highlighted by ALE’s nasal scratching timber; apparently immediate lyrics concealing amused bitterness, with that learned nonchalance making room for lucid detachment, that special extra beyond the music. Behind an appealing façade, there can be found a deeper and more profound taste just like with things becoming more precious in the course of time. A virtue that modern pop-rock has for some time now forgotten about. Just Scotch Ale, and you don’t know what you’re drinking. BIOGRAPHY Born in 2008, Scotch Ale offer an original pop&roll mix, characterized by smart lyrics both in Italian and English. After finding the right set-up, the band is now ready to perform live, already receiving accolades: the band in fact has been admitted to the finals of musical contests such as Italia Wave and GBOB, and is now getting the chance to play alongside with many international artists. Scotch Ale’s first album “R+R” was recorded thanks to the cooperation with the important producer Fabrizio Grossi (who has worked, among others, with Slash of Guns‘n’ Roses, John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple). The album features other top producers like Steve Lyon (having worked with Depeche mode, Cure, Subsonica, Paul Mc Cartney and Laura Pausini) and Daniele Persoglio (now working for Finley and Punkreas). These collaborations have led Scotch Ale to sign a deal with Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, for the rights over the “movie edit” of their “Close My Eyes”, the English version of “Vita (col) top”: in fact the song will be included in the soundtrack of one of its productions expected to come out in 2009. Another acknowledgement for the young band has come from the 59th edition of the Sanremo Festival contest, where they presented the song “Non sei quella che vorrei”. Scotch Ale had been in fact selected as one of the 90 finalists (out of 470 participants) and were guests on February 19th 2009 at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo. http://www.myspace.com/scotchaleband http://www.scotchaleband.com Management: peruzzo.ada@gmail.com
