About rozinante

new york, NY

Bikini Robot Army is Val Broeksmit.

Originally called “The Good Time Charlies” with band members Brandon Geiger & Matt Goldsborough, Val branched off to create his own unique style as Bikini Robot Army; as with The Streets (Mike Skinner), Moby (Richard Melville Hall), Girl Talk (Gregg Michael Gillis) and Beck – Val is Bikini Robot Army.

Val has created some of the catchiest, greatest grooves. His music takes the best parts of: 60’s & 70’s rock bands, Mo-town grooves and post punk electronic dance beats of the 80’s and 90’s; perfected with his inimitable poetry and prose, from Rudyard Kipling through Robert Hunter to Robert Burns. One of Val’s most addictive hooks, is straight from Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men” [Joe Strummer’s House].

Usually Val calls on his special guests to come and join him.

Special Guests include:
David Bowie
Moby
Keith Richards
Andrew Jarecki

The lovely Andrew Jarecki drums all over “Joe Strummer’s house”, beating that song into maturity.
