Roseville is no exception to these to influences. With the slum beautiful indie rock environment and underlying theme of “Keep Portland Weird”, Roseville’s music is a direct reflection of the looks sounds and scenarios of their world. James Dean, the eccentric, generously arrogant, All State athlete was stopped short of his dreams of playing NCAA football due to academic technicalities. With that path cut short, he resorted to his parallel passion of music and entertainment. He then hit the road as a hype man for “The World Famous DJ chill” and the live hip-hop band “5 Fingers of Funk”. But as time went on, the hype man soon stole the show. From hosting events to rocking packed venues, Dean learned he possessed the gift of appeal and never fell short of being the life of the party. With his experiences James Dean has mastered the art of Hook writing and showmanship and knows exactly how to get the crowd going. Viza, Unlike his counterpart, was introduced to the hip-hop hustle early in life. In high school he played key rolls in the lyrical and instrumental production of the trend setting group “Proz And Conz” which remains amongst Portland’s highest selling local hip-hop acts. Hidden by his cool calm even keeled demeanor, his elaborate rhyme schemes, creative wit, and intense stage presents often takes listeners by surprise. At first glance his broken home upbringing and artistic mystique could be misinterpreted by his trendy fashion sense and charming visage. To counter, Viza prides on providing a thoughtful detailed narration of life’s highs lows and in betweens, giving the listener the best of all worlds. Aside from their extreme differences, James Dean and Viza share the same appreciation for multiple genres of music and express the will to bridge these gaps under the concept of “Bridge Music”. With anyone from Outkast, MGMT, to Green Day constantly in their iPods, their perspective in thier quest for permanence in the ever changing music industry is always up to speed. With their “Too Creative for constraints” mentality showcased in songs like “Jupiter” “Popular” and “The Light”, Roseville offers the industry a fresh new sense of direction with a twist of good old fashioned fun.
