SONGWRITER About Robert Ferguson by Malcolm Robinson author of UFO Case Files of Scotland (Amazing Real Life Alien Encounters) purchase from Healings of Atlantis: I am very proud to say that I have known Robert Ferguson as a songwriter and friend for many years now certainly since 1975. We have grown up together and shared song writing together and through all those years I have seen how Robert’s songs have improved through each year. The way Robert constructs chords and improvises those chords with structures have at times amazed me. These chord structures work incredibly well and I’ve found myself copying his style from time to time. It’s not only that though, it’s Robert’s imagination of where instruments should be in each song coupled with the harmonising is yet another feature of the imagination and ingenuity of Robert as a songwriter. Songwriters are always influenced by their favourite bands and Robert is no exception, the Beatles played a major role in his musical upbringing and one can see that through some of Robert’s songs, which is never a bad thing as the influence ads an edge to the song itself. In recent years Robert has added to the flavour of his songs simply because he now has a home studio to work with. This has seen Robert’s songs grow in stature and his creativity now knows no bounds. I’m pleased to say that I have sung on one of my favourite Ferguson tracks, Corporation Flowers. Robert’s partnership with long time friend Steven Taylor has also aided his song writing ability and enhanced his capacity to see out the box and deliver an added edge through bouncing song writing ideas with Steven. At the end of the day, I can easily say that I have enjoyed the music coming from Robert Ferguson and due to today’s modern internet technology, many more people will now have access to Robert’s songs and here what I have been hearing over the years.
