Katie Lundberg (vocals/guitar) and Tony Portwood (lead guitar) developed RisingSide in late 2005 as an acoustic group merging lyrical and melodic sounds to connect with their audience. Katie Lundberg (vocals/guitar) and Tony Portwood (lead guitar) developed RisingSide in late 2005 as an acoustic group merging lyrical and melodic sounds to connect with their audience. After three years of working the Minneapolis scene, they found the need to challenge their writing ability. This led to them adding Ryan Worthman on drums and Dan Olmschenk on bass to complete the group. RisingSide developed their sound from conceptual narratives written by the female lead Katie Lundberg. The stories are highly evolved on the idea of personal connections that survive, and even strengthen, throughout time and space. The goal of the band is to blend narration and visual concepts with well thought out musicality in order to captivate and expand the audience's experience to music.
