Called by the Grand Rapids Press' John Sinkevics as "Young Funk-Meisters", Righteous puts on an exciting, over the top high energy live show that leaves the audience with a smile. Righteous enjoys giving you the feeling that it is ok to shake your pants and dance. Called by the Grand Rapids Press' John Sinkevics as "Young Funk-Meisters", Righteous puts on an exciting, over the top high energy live show that leaves the audience with a smile. Righteous opened up for Third Eye Blind and Matt Nathanson at the Muskegon Summer Celebration on July 4, 2009 at the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge Main Stage. In the Fall of 2009, Righteous wrote a theme song for The Lawyers Show which airs in Kalamazoo, MI on Saturday mornings from 10:15 a.m. to 10:59 a.m. on WQZO AM 590, and on Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Grand Rapids on Wood 1300 AM and can also be heard at www.woodradio.com. Righteous participated in the Muskegon Summer Celebration Battle of the Bands on May 17, 2009 at the LC Walker Arena vying for a spot to open up for a national act at this summer’s festival and WON. Righteous performed at the NCAA Final Four/Tune Town Festival in Downtown Detroit on April 3, 2009. Righteous is a 2007 Jammies Award Nominee in the categories of Best Local Rock Album of the Year and Best New Local Rock Nominee sponsored by WYCE 88.1. Righteous performed at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in February 2008 for their Winter Concert Series. Righteous was one of 10 bands chosen out of 100 to participate in the Detroit News Battle of the Bands which was held at the State Theatre in Detroit, MI in April, 2006 and placed second. Righteous also played live on The Mitch Albom Show in Detroit, MI in April 2006. They also were one of 25 bands chosen out of 112 to compete in the semi- finals, moving on to the finals as one of the top 5 bands in Aris’ 2005 Hometown Rock Music Search sponsored by 101.3 The Fox located in Grand Rapids, MI in November and December of 2005.
