Portrait of Rehya Stevens
Singer/songwriter/pianist Rehya Stevens with her distinct vocals, delivers self penned songs that are sophisticated and sincere. Whether she sings about life, love or loss, Rehya communicates themes in a warm tradition reminiscent of Carole King, Dusty Springfield and Lisa Stansfield.

Rehya’s father, as a composer/conductor for Walt Disney, Inc., was heavily involved in the scores, orchestrations and arrangements for Disney’s television shows and movies. Consequently, seasoned musicians and songwriters infiltrating the household were an integral part of Rehya’s formative years as a musician/singer/songwriter.

Nurtured in her writing, arranging, and singing abilities, Rehya developed a strong foundation which landed her steady work performing in local R&B and Jazz clubs by the time she reached her early teens. Performing works by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Wonder, Rehya earned a large fan base of devoted audiences, filling venues on a regular basis. With a gift for emulating and stylizing great singers, Rehya cultivated a style of her own accord that is apparent in her signature vocals today.

Rehya is currently in the studio recording a new album, with songs carefully plucked from her personal catalog. Her album reveals an honest perspective on life and love, with a focus on her desire to maintain dignity and grace through life’s inevitable ups and downs. She takes the good with the bad and transforms it into beautiful songs with great melodies and lyrics that people naturally relate to.

In addition to making a new album, Rehya has become an in demand vocalist for hire on numerous recording projects in her home base of Los Angeles, Ca. Rehya’s voice can be heard singing the theme for the VH1 hit, Scott Baio, 45 and Single. Rehya is also scoring music for a film set for release through Paramount Pictures in 2008.

With great contemporary songs and voice, this striking young lady shows promise of a bright career in music that will have audiences take notice.
