November 2009

Here’s a video that was captured of me offering my bottleneck slide interpretation of an old blues song, Goin’ T’ Brownsville, on open mic night at Old Strokers in Everett, WA. It starts out with me briefly introducing my homemade “Nobro” resophonic guitar and explaining some of the various recycled garage sale junk that I used in it’s construction. Enjoy!

Today is the release of Left 4 Dead 2, the latest zombiepalooza video game from the folks at Valve. Last summer, I was invited to offer some of my acoustic bottleneck slide blues with my homemade resophonic Nobro guitar and bow some spooky musical saw for this zombiefest soundtrack. I was contractually gagged to mention my participation in this huge multimedia project until its release. So, video game fans, acoustic bottleneck slide blues fans and musical saw fans, I am proud to finally and officially invite you to lend an ear, while you’re busy trying to defend yourselves from legions of the undead. Enjoy!

Sorry blues fans, I was just informed that this show has already sold out. November 21st at 7pm Old Strokers, located just east of beautiful downtown Everett WA at 2816 Hewitt Ave, has invited me to be the featured entertainment at their Bluesfeast music and dinner event. Expect to get a belly full of fine dining while I cook up an earful of my latest bottleneck blues. Old Strokers has limited seating and a lot of leather-clad and tattooed biker friends that support all of their special events. If you like, you can call Sandy or Randy at 425-387-3923 to inquire about future events that will feature my music. Hope to saw ya there! You can invite me to entertain at your next event gathering by contacting me at reggiemiles@gmail.com

It isn’t all serious folk/blues business. I take plenty of time out for the fun stuff too, especially during this time of the year.

I didn’t know that someone was in the audience capturing video of my performance during this open mic last Thursday. The visual isn’t so great but I was delighted to hear the audio of this song. Plus, I was playing my latest homemade Frankenstein guitar creation, my Nobro Convertrouble! I so seldom get to hear myself from the audience’s perspective. It’s a real treat just in time for Halloween. Enjoy!
