Born is Los Angeles California, Rebecca has been writing poetry since the age of 11 and gigging since she was 15 years old. With nothing but her voice and a guitar she landed her first publishing contract with Bob-a-lew music (of Blondie and Huey Lewis and the News fame) and started session singing garnering several dance cover tune jobs from Cher to Alanis Morrisette. Around 2002 she landed a job for Miramax singing the trailor for the movie "Heaven" starring Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi. She then upon moving on from Bob-a-lew formed The Rebecca Harris Band were she recorded a full length demo CD and gigged at such prestigious venues in the Los Angeles area such as the infamous Viper Room, The House of Blues, The Key Club and The Derby. Deciding to expand her horizons she then moved to Canada were she toured and made her way back down the coast until she landed in San Diego, California and gigged for a year. Missing the LA vibe and her band she moved back to the City of Angels and is currently gigging, doing session work and releasing her album on CD Baby and Itunes entitled "Stranger than Fiction". Heavily influenced by Dusty Springfield, Chrissy Hynde of The Pretenders, Linda Rondstadt, Siouxsie and the Banshees and all strong story telling music, she continues to play her special hybrid of pop/rock with a strong melodic, percussive and groove oriented flavor. Her unique and powerful voice drive the meaning of her lyrics home.
