Ray Dogg aka Don Rey an Artist of Mexican-American descent was born at the Martin Luther King Jr. hospital in Los Angeles, CA and was raised in San Jose, Ca (Bay Area) by his single mother of two. With his mother constantly working to make ends meet, and his father-figure passing of a Heroin and Cocaine overdose on Ray’s tenth birthday, he and his older brother roamed the city diagnosing urban life. By the time Ray Dogg was 15 years old he was throwing parties & dealing drugs to create income to finance his dream, music. After problems with authorities and incarceration, he gave up dealing but remained focused on music. Growing up listening to many genres of music such as Rap, Rock, R&B and Latin, makes his own music very diverse and universal to many walks of life. As he became part of the underground rap scene, Ray Dogg released his first album “Influenced By Cash” in 1999 with schoolmate Mello. He also released his first solo album in 2006 entitled “ Life of Don Rey Vol. 1” through Select-o-hits Distribution. Recently performing with great acts such as Akon, Pitbull, Three 6 Mafia, Fat Joe, Too Short, E40, Jason Derulo, Frankie J and more, he’s also working on his second solo album and promoting a new single called “Programed” which was recorded with industry friend MC Magic. Upon its release, the new single has received over 30 spins in 5 weeks at Clear Channel radio station KSFM 102.5 in Sacramento, Ca. As an independent artist and record label, Ray Dogg plans on teaming up with a major record label to take his music career to the next level. Not only has Ray Dogg performed with many great artists but has also recorded songs with various artists such as Baby Bash, SPM, C-BO, MC Magic, Keak Da Sneak, San Quinn, Kurupt, Mistah FAB and the late Mac Dre. Ray Dogg is focused on becoming a major factor in the music industry as a rapper, song-writer, producer and performer. He prides himself in being universal and has recorded many different types of songs that range from street life and partying to love and everyday struggles. Respected by his piers, Baby Bash has stated that “Ray Dogg is making his mark and his new single is hot”, while Mistah FAB states that “Ray Dogg is the real deal, a true hard worker and good person besides a great entertainer”.
