Protocol:(noun)an official account of a proceeding, the proper way to perform an action. Quite an appropriate name for a band that does nothing the same as everyone else... Protocol hails from the college town of Bloomington, Indiana, and has been making waves in the local hip-hop scene with the intense, head bobbing beats from the head of Steven Marshall, the undeniably unique voice of Brice Fox, and the flat-out power of Hythum El-Sayyad's rapping. The band was originally named The Dynasty, and was formed by Brice Fox, Hythum El-Sayyad, and Steven Marshall their junior year in high school. Now in college, the band has expanded to include bass player Steve Alwine, drummer Ike Mackover, and guitarist Conor O'Toole. Protocol's first full-length, professionally mastered studio album, "For the Love of the Music," was completed in June of 2008 and was an instant local success. Always striving for perfection, the band is now working hard on their sophomore album, and is booking as many shows as possible in preparation for Summer 2009.
