With the local music scene taking a new turn in the Bahamas, a handful of new young artists have stepped to the forefront to display talents that many bahamians at one point would have never accepted. One such artist taking position on the frontline, known as “Porter the Poet” has already established himself as one of the best rappers in the chain of seven hundred islands and cays. With his unique lyricism and smooth delivery “the Poet” has captured the listening audience over local airwaves and helped to open the eyes and ears of some of the local music industry’s most influential people. Aligning himself with organizations like Island Boy Records, who’s artist lineup includes bahamian reggae superstar “MDeez” and hot new rapper “Slu2gz”, and GH Events Ceo and radio personality “Kemis.net”, the Poet has become a product of his own environment.
