P.O.L.O. Playaz Only Live Once was born in the early eighties in Columbia, South Carolina. His love for music was influenced by artists like Tupac, Eightball & MJG, Scarface and a host of other southern rappers. P.O.L.O. started rapping at age 13. Music was always a hobby to him. It was his way to get away from all the troubles in life. It was his escape. He suffered many family losses early in his life. The death of his sister and father were among the biggest losses. After having these two people taken away from him, he felt like the whole world owed him something. In the years ahead, a serious wake-up call drew him to the conclusion that he was all wrong. The reality he faced was that he was going to have to work for and earn what he deserved. After a lot of freestyle battles and being in and out of many different rap ciphers, he earned his respect in the rap game and has not looked back since. The music scene in Columbia rapidly became obsolete. His dreams of being discovered were quickly replaced by dreams of being a baller in the dope game. Soon thereafter, he decided it was time to start trappin. After years of hustling, struggling and taking too many losses in the streets he knew it was time to switch the game. In 2001, P.O.L.O. packed up his stuff and moved to Atlanta after losing his brother in 2000. At this point in his life and career, P.O.L.O. was motivated more than ever to rap. This motivation was partly influenced by his late brother’s love for the music game too. He was focused and ready to take rapping more serious than ever before. P.O.L.O. recorded song after song and his future was looking very bright. Suddenly, his mother got sick and he had to move back to his hometown. Moving back was the most humbling experience of his life. He took a year off from recording to be with his mother during her recovery. P.O.L.O. returned to the studio in 2005 with a new attitude and new outlook on his career. He has continuously been banging out hit after hit and album after album. P.O.L.O. wanted to share his knowledge and life experiences to help other up and coming artists. In early 2007, he formed Hundred Grand Entertainment, a promotion and entertainment company. He loves what he does and he’s looking forward to seeing what life and the rap game has in store for him. Visit P.O.L.O. on his Myspace page at www.myspace.com/po_daplayboi.
