Phantasm is a rock/new progressive trio based in Philadelphia. The band has a reputation for putting on high energy live shows and pushing the boundaries of what a rock band can do on stage, including the use of unconventional instruments and power tools, live looping, improvisation, and moments of chaotic noise. In 2009 While performing at a club in Hartford, CT, the band caught the eye of Living Colour’s bass player Doug Wimbish. Less than a month later Phantasm was on the road with Living Colour as the supporting act for the Chair in the Doorway tour. Phantasm was invited to play the annual Wimbash Festival where Doug joined the band on stage to do a Jimi Hendrix cover that brought the house down. Phantasm has also shared the stage with The Memorials (f. Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta) Just Like Vinyl (f. Thomas Erak of Fall of Troy) The Sleeping, Closure in Moscow, As Tall As Lions, Andrew WK, The Locust as well as opening for Mos Def at Dennison University in March of 2010. Phantasm’s newest release, Graph The Pulse is a heavy and raw six song EP recorded mostly live with minimal overdubs. The recording showcases the talent and power of the band. “It’s very uncommon for a three piece band to make the kind of noise and put on a show with the kind of energy we do. We needed people to be able to feel that in a recording.” – Singer/Guitarist, Steven Rosplock. Listen to Graph The Pulse in it’s entirety: http://www.phantasm.bandcamp.com
