Peter Daily & The Royal Band
Peter Daily is a singer/songwriter whose home base is in Los Angeles, though his roots lay deep in the heart of Texas. Peter Daily comes from a musical family, and was particularly influenced by his father, who sang in a gospel group out of Dallas in the 1970’s. Peter spent much of his childhood on the group’s tour bus. Daily inherited his father’s knack for performance early on; he began singing in front of crowds when he was 4 years old, and soon after, he got his first drum kit. When he was 10 years old, Peter put together a band with his cousin and they performed at talent shows, school assemblies, coffee shops and open mics.
During his teenage years, Peter Daily began teaching himself to play the piano, and eventually picked up lessons from a blind pianist who left a permanent mark on Peter’s musical path. While Daily was playing drums in his brother’s hip-hop band called ill harmonics, he met LA based artist Pigeon John and began drumming for Pigeon John in 2004 sharing the stage with the likes of Matisyahu, Of Montreal, The Polyphonic Spree, Bedouin Soundclash and Mike Patton to name a few.
Four years would pass and along with friends Darius Minaee, and Andrew Behjatnia – “The Royal Band” would be formed. Blending classic pop sounds on their latest EP “The 9th St. Sessions” each one would contribute to the record with plans for a full length in the future. Peter Daily’s debut record “Who is Peter Daily?” released digitally via iTunes and all digital markets on Janurary 15, 2008 featuring former Cibo Matto member Miho Hatori.
