Panacea păn'ə-sē'ə -noun a remedy for all disease or ills; cure-all. Panacea Dream is an unsigned band from Birmingham, UK who fuses dark melodies and intensity into a unique compelling blend of alternative and progressive rock. Beside their typical sound, the band can always surprise with sporadic tracks ranging from soaring ballads to pounding punk. Energetic live performances capture the mood and intensity of Panacea Dream well and the band are always eager to play the next show taking their music to new listeners both locally and beyond. The earliest incarnation of Panacea Dream was in spring 2008 with brothers Sam (guitar) and Darius (drums) Khan meeting bass-player Phil Blakeman. The following autumn the 4 track demo “Indelible” was recorded with Canadian vocalist Andrew Spark. Local singer Wayne Dickenson replaced Spark in summer 2009 after the Canadian returned home and the band is now well settled. In summer 2010 the band recorded their 8 track debut album “After the Blackout” with all recording, production and distribution financed and managed independently. The dark feel of the record is defined from the first song “Haunted” with tracks like the punk “No Democracy” and the uplifting “Reborn” punctuating the mood. Also prevalent are the dynamics with songs building up from gentle verses to intense choruses with rousing guitar work and captivating rhythms. After the Blackout is available now at PanaceaDream.com
