Wow. (thanks to Lazer 103 and des moines, for being you)

Alright, So we have been successfully shown the badass nature of Des Moines, Iowa.

We were there for a few days, and had some pretty strange, but memorable moments..

And played the Lazerfest on Saturday, With all the lunatics- Which was one of the best afternoons/evenings/nights I’ve had in a while.

We exploded in chaos and beauty, playin with a crowd of about 15,000 (Probably only about 100 of which, did I have the chance to soak from the stage with water… sorry to the rest of you, I know it was hot, but that’s why you go to the front) ...and I spent the rest of the afternoon/night meeting new friends and fans… and watching friends make music, everyone (not just stp) played their asses off, It was magical.

All in all, It was madness. We all broke everything open.

And I left very happy with you, Des Moines.

Thankyou. Keep requesting “Addicted”- I guess it gets played pretty well there, cuz I know a lot of you were singing along with me. And we’ll be back, I believe, in September… So stay tuned. Join our email list and street team to be a part of it all.

And a HUGE THANKS to RYAN, and EVERYONE at LAZER 103 for all your support and hospitality…

And every single person who helped to make our couple days in Iowa intensely and wonderfully memorable.

You’re incredible- Seeya soon…

Until then, Blue Skies and Open Road

Des Moines, on the Main Stage Saturday at 3 PM!!!!

Hey Everyone,

Hope everyone had a great fourth of July, we celebrated it here in Des Moines, with friends and my Canadian cousin!

Now the party is over and its time to ROCK.

Tomorrow at 3 PM we take the main stage, are you all going to be there? We can’t see why not, its going to be a great sunny day with amazing bands up there (filter, Stained, STP, etc)

We look forward to seeing you all there and not just the people that were at the house in Des Moines that we played yesterday.

Cheers

Gabriel

Des Moines, Iowa

With almost a week off before the biggest show of our tour, We thought it would be a good idea to get into a rehearsal room to run through our set on arrival to Des Moines. I remembered Devin, A singer/guitar player who we met the first time we played in the area. Being in a band, we thought he may be able to help. One email, and it was set. However, no rehearsal studio was found. A house of a friend of a friend; Parents who were out of town; Runs to the liquor store; Police; And phone calls to everyone because that band Palmerston was playing the best house party in Des Moines, Iowa tonight.

Back at the hotel and just realizing what an amazing night we were all a part of.

Thanks

Ding Batz tonight!

Hey Everyone

Tonight is our second last show for the east coast, we are really looking forward to it!!!

Its been great being out here, reminds us of back home, (Toronto, Canada)

The tour is coming to an end, but we will be back, but till then thanks for welcoming us into your states and coming out to the shows. Everyone has been really cool, and its been a blast for me where ever we have been.

If you are in New Jersey hope you can make it out!!! Cheers Gabriel

Dear, MIDWEST-

So… We did Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin, This last weekend… Just left this mornin, on our way back to NY, east coast area- Our next show is DINGBATZ, in Clifton, New Jersey On thursday (be there.)

But right now, as we cruise along, through the vast, simple landscape, In the wide-open afternoon, My window’s cracked, I’m barefoot, layin in the back- Damn, the midwest is peaceful. Yes, the weather weirds me out (And totally screws up show-planning), No ocean in 1000 miles, And there are mosquitoes that could take over the world, If only they started working together… But its beautiful out here.

Wisconsin, you were a blast- Ohio, very strange and memorable- Indiana, hell yeah- And Missouri, oh missouri…what can I even say? (That I haven’t already said- read the columbia blog)

Thank you.

Back east, then back through for a couple more middle shows, festivals, (Lazerfest, in Des Moines, with STP- check that out) On our way back to Cali, my home and the closest thing I have to heaven.

So stay in touch- Keep your eyes ears and minds open, And meet us again next time.

Until then, Blue skies and Open Road-

...

A few weeks back i recieved a message from the brother of a girl who had tried to come see our show in Toledo, Ohio. The message read that she had never made it, and was in a serious car accident.

This lead to phone calls through the night until morning because of fear of closing her eyes, prayers, surgery complications and finally a family member messaging me with news of this girl being on life support and possible funeral arrangements. This was not a close friend, simply someone who had been to a Palmerston show a while back and kept in touch… Although i didn’t know this person, i couldn’t sleep being in some way connected to this girl’s misfortunate situation. A Palmerston fan living through this because of wanting to go to a show.

I answered all calls, all hours. This person was afraid to close her eyes, not knowing if she would wake.

After a week of going through this tragedy over the phone, not sleeping and shows suffering, i got on a plane and flew to Toledo. I didn’t know what to expect. I had no idea of the situation i was about to walk into. I landed, rented a car and drove to St. Vincent Hospital, where i was told to go…. What was to follow is what i never saw coming.

No one of that name registered at any hospital in Toledo. No police report of an accident that night. No more messages or calls. No brother.

i have no idea what this person got out of all of this.

It’s cool that some of you i have told this story to want to be able to call this person and let them know how lame they are.

i can post their myspace url or even the phone number that this person was crying to me from, but that would only bring me closer to her level.

sleep well.
