OptiO began in 2000 (April 25, 2000 to be accurate) as a project between college friends in Cordoba (Argentina). OptiO began in 2000 (April 25, 2000 to be accurate) as a project between college friends in Cordoba (Argentina). None of the members could play any instrument, it was almost simultaneously that they decided to start the band and buy their guitars, bass and drums .- Many band members went through during the years, until finally, the group was consolidated with Bertea Nicolas (Guitar and Vocals), Santiago Irazuzta (Bass and Vocals) and Julian Bronstein (Drums and Percussion); numerous influences affected the band's musical style over time, we can now proudly say that we have our own identity .- In regard to the sound, Optio has a particular style, never heard at Córdoba's (and Argentina´s) music scene, with their own songs, lyrics written in English and with a simple yet powerful sound.- Optio has a distinctly international profile, with North American and European influences, mainly from Rock/British Pop, Grunge and Alternative Rock, among other genres.- Initially the band was called Utopia, but because the name was already registered, in 2009 it was changed to OptiO. As Utopia, they recorded a single in 2007; the second album came as OptiO, recorded in 2009/10. 2011 started with the pre producing of their third studio album, very promising by the way since Mario Carnerero (ODP) joined the project as music producer.- 2008 EP was recorded in the city of Cordoba at Sogo Studio (Va. Rivera Indarte), produced by Indio Márquez (Buenos Aires) and with the collaboration of Marcelo Cabeza Alonso as sound tech.- 2009 Single was produced by Jorge Cuerdita Tarnavasio, it also counted with Mario Carnerero´s help (Ojos de Piedra), recorded at 440 studio in the city of Cordoba under the command of Mariano Nano Dinella as sound thec, it was mastered in Buenos Aires at El Pie studio. This material (and previously ones)can be heard and downloaded by entering at: http://www.optiorock.com.ar.- 2011 began with a promising project, the pre production of a new single, OptiO gathered a crew willing to participate in this new album, a 5 song EP produced once again by Mario Carnerero (ODP), recorded at 440 studio with sound tech Mariano Nano Dinella. Release date to be determined.- Meanwhile, OptiO keeps searching new sceneries and challenges in order to keep making music with their typical passion, always keeping one premise, finding and keeping their own and unique sound; as told, OptiO began as a little project between friends, now a days the number of collaborators is increasing day by day, If it wasn't for Mario Carnerero (Ojos de Piedra), Mariano Nano Dinella (440 Studio), Alejandro Di Rienzo (440 Studio), Leo Bianchi (http://www.benditogargae.com), our relatives and so many more, we wouldn't be where we are.-
