Jeremiah Kali Council or known by his stage name “Oktiv”, was born on September 19, 1991 in Voorhees, New Jersey. He was raised in Camden, New Jersey which was recently named as the most dangerous city in the U.S. Growing up, like most musicians, he loved music, but for Jeremiah it was never anything he really wanted to do but he had a interest in writing poetry and songs. He stopped writing songs and poetry, because he took up an interest in basketball, and wanted to go to the NBA, but when he got in high school(10th grade), he noticed he wasnt as nearly as good as he needed to be in the NBA. In the tenth grade friends of his named Josuel Fuentes and Elisha Enos played piano and which got him interested and excited because his love for music never went away, so at home he started messing with a Yamaha keyboard that his mother bought him for Christmas in seventh grade that he never played and learned his first song “Fur Eise” by Beethoven. This opened Jeremiah’s mind to many new things. He eventually learned new songs, and was getting better at piano. What got him into music producing is when his close friend Josuel Fuentes had Reason computer software to make beats on and Jeremiah was really interested so Josuel gave Jeremiah his Reason 4.0 disc and let Jeremiah download it on his computer. He was thrilled and as he started making beats he started to write to some of his beats and to other people’s beats to make songs which again opened the door to the poetry and songwriting he used to do as a child, except now, making original songs. Now at 17 years old, he has been producing for about 2 years now, but the way his music sounds it seems as if he has been doing it his whole life. Jeremiah honestly feels that this is what he was born to do, and he will continue to do it until he reaches the top……….and beyond.
