Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina Obraskai is a collaboration of musicians who wanted to offer something a little unique to the South eastern music scene. After becoming disenchanted with the various music projects guitarist Chris Byers, drummer Matt Warren, and Vocalist Dylan Barton decided to start a project that was different from anything they had previously done and create music that was very personal to each member. After weeks of writing material and working on a powerful live performance bassist Greg Bolton was recruited and Obraskai was born.

Obraskai attempts to encompass many styles of music and break musical boundaries in our writing, while giving a mind-expanding experience during our live shows. During our performances, we feed off the energy of the audience and give them a powerful rock show that we feel they soon won’t forget. We all have a passion for our music, and our main objective is conveying that passion to anyone who chooses to listen…

After touring the southeast on and off for more than a year and selling over 4,000 copies of there demo, Obraskai set forth to record and release there first full length album entitled “This World Is In Dire Need Of Heroes.” The 10 track album was released on September 26th, 2008 and the band sold more than 200 copies at its local CD release show. The first Single “The Vespers Walk” was put into regular radio rotation on multiple South Eastern rock radio stations including all 3 major rock stations in South Carolina. The Obraskai train is steaming full speed ahead and it isn’t slowing down any time soon!!!
