About Noa Babayof
Noa Babayof has been gathering momentum in the Israeli media as one of the most unique voices in recent years. Noa, 25, (not to be confused with the other Noa – Achinoam Nini) originally from Be’er Sheva, first emerged onto the scene as a performer in 2005. Since, she has been performing regularly as a solo occasionally collaborating with musician Amit Erez for joined shows, and many other local artists.
Her mesmerizing caressing vocals have been compared to some of the greatest female vocalists of all time such as: Nico, Joni Mitchell and Vashti Bunyan.
“A frightfully talented singer, with a voice that even the heavens can not bear”.
(Walla portal, Israel)
“A slow and clear vocal delivery with a voice that makes you believe in reincarnation".( "7 nights" culture magazine, Israel)
Last May Noa traveled to Philadelphia to record her debut album “From A Window To A Wall”, under the production of Greg Weeks, the producer and guitar player for Espers - one of the most prominent psychedelic folk bands worldwide.
The album is primarily based on rich string arrangements, mysterious and dark, reminiscent of classic albums from the 60’s. Noa’s moving songs, delivered by her tenderly captivating and touching vocals, make this album one of the best winter albums created in the last couple of years.
The album was released in Israel under Anova Records (Rockfour, Eatliz, Amit Erez), and will be released June 2008 in the US under the Philadelphia-based label Language Of Stone
The first single release, "Marching Band" has attained massive air play on the local Israeli radio stations, and received exceptional reviews as well as reaching in second place at the weekly top hits chart of "7 Nights" magazine.
