Hi my name is Nefertiti Jones thou most people simply call me Nef and I am far from perfect no matter what my hippie parents were thinking when they named me.
What I am is a singer songwriter who has been doing music for a long time. I love all genres thou I tend to gravitate towards pop-rock.
When I am not singing or writing music I run a music program for kids in the foster care and welfare system called Gibson Kids Rock. The kids are 7 and 8 years old now and my music partner Jimi K Bones, who is an amazing guitar player and I have been teaching them for over a year.
Since it's inception the kids have been on New York 1, ABC, Q 104.3, Think.MTV.Com performed in 5 different venues and now Sway Calloway from MTV is going to produce one of their original tracks. Basically they will probably get a record deal before me.

I also work as a casting director in New York City which has been pretty cool because it has allowed me to work on some awesome projects; not to mention I somehow fell ass backwards into several television spots myself so that's been nice.
I grew up in Alphabet City in the late 70's before it was hip, trendy or cool,saw some pretty bad things but hey it made me who I am today. Now I am writing a one woman show called "bedtime stories from Alphabet City". Kind of twisted but I like it.

"Life Is Perfect" is Nef Jones and Jimi K. Bones first complete collaboration as JonesBones. The album was produced by engineer and friend Brian McGee, (Rolling Stones, Cyndi Lauper, Aerosmith). The CD has flavors ranging from artists like Liz Phair, The Ramones, Green Day, early Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow and, of course, a whole lot of Nef and Jimi.

Performed at the Lilith Fair in Portland Oregon in 1998.
Appeared on MTV, Mornings on Two, Bay TV, Alice Radio, KFOG, WPKN, 99.5 FM and Tribeca Radio.
Featured artist in the film documentary, Electric Purgatory, with music legends Fishbone, Vernon Reid, Bad Brains and Living Colour.
Was a top 50 finalist in the American Music Awards' New Music Award contest.
Her former band, Nefertiti Jones, was nominated for Best Band of the Year by San Francisco Weekly.
In January 2005 Jonesbones opened up for Blondie at the Gibson Showroom for a benefit to help raise money for area's devastated by Tsunami.
Jonesbones song "Strong" held a winning position in the LightScribe Rock Competition on American idolunderground.
JonesBones song "Nothing New" was the # 2 rock song on American Idol Underground.
2002 Nef song "Minefield" was nominated in the Just Plain Folks Competition.
Most recently Nef sang a duet with Thommy Price for the Joan Jett Black Heart Christmas album in 2008.
Nef has appeared in several National Television Commercials. A "Drink Responsibly" ad for Bacardi, Humira pharmaceutical spot, Bally's Fitness commercial playing a Gibson Les Paul acoustic guitar, a nationally seen Blockbuster TV spot as well as an Industrial spot for Cosmopolitan.
