Classic ups and downs of a hungry artist paired with originality and a fresh, young point of view. These are the characteristics along with her dedication and drive that led Mz. Tisa to express herself through her music. Along with her trial and error theme of many producers wanting to place her in a box, Mz. Tisa in turn learned more and more about what kind of artist she wanted to be versus what she didn’t want. Wanting to be a singer/artist since she can remember, Mz. Tisa comes from a family of talent. Her mother, a young woman in the Philippines, sang her way through college with her love for music. This love and talent was passed on to Mz. Tisa which grew into a true drive and inspiration for her to get where she wants to be. Willing to grow as an artist with her writing and singing, Mz. Tisa has hit many turning points and maturity levels with her music. Now 19 as a young woman and working hard at what she wants to accomplish for herself, Mz. Tisa is tackling her biggest project yet. No stranger to the music industry, Producer, songwriter and music director Dammo who has worked with high profile artists such as Danity Kane, Lupe Fiasco and Mario’s latest project took notice of the young artist. Another well known name in the industry, mix engineer Tommy D, whose credits Michael Jackson, Madonna, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre has also become part of the Mz. Tisa production team. Not only a full time artist, Mz. Tisa is also a full time college student. Writing essay after essay, report after report, THEN comes the studio with long hours of song writing, co-producing and recording. Mz. Tisa says with a smile on her face, “all in a day’s work”. With such a hectic schedule already, Mz. Tisa still finds time to do the few things she loves, like all teenagers, eating, dancing, and most importantly, sleeping, and did we mention sleeping? Although still young, she understands the discipline that goes into an album. For Mz. Tisa, this album and project are very personal and dear to her. She wants to make her music relevant to herself as well as her fans. Also being aware that she is not alone in many of the experiences a young woman is challenged with, Mz. Tisa chooses to make light of that and have fun with her lyrics and choice of song throughout her upcoming album with featured tracks, “Valet”, “It’s You” and her debut single “Mr. Wrong”.
