Portrait of Miztasand

Put your hand in GOD’s, “A Dark Day” is coming!

Get Rich Or Die Trying! It’s a phrase that has become very popular with the release of rapper turned actor 50cent’s debut film release of the same title. It’s also a phrase that Terrance Cuff Known as Miztasand to his fans and his radio audience, uses metaphorically in his strive toward the top. Miztasand has been a rising HIP HOP artist in the Williamsport area for years now. Cuff first recieved natioanal recognization when he became a finalist in MTV’s “Ultimate Hip Hop Talent Search”.The contest had attracted hundreds of rappers from across the U.S. hoping to land a record deal and record internationally distributed album. Cuff was among the 32 semi finalists chosen. Since the contest, Sand has created a fan base that has begun it’s creep across the nation. His albums, as of yet, have only been distributed locally. But Sand claims that people are traveling to Williamsport from other areas just to buy his albums. The release of his first full-length album,“The Port’s Illest,” attracted much attention and acclaim from fans and critics alike. In a recent interview with the Sun Gazette, Cuff discussed his goals and attitudes about his music jovially and very light-heartedly. “That’s what it’s all about!” he laughed. "Get rich or die tryin! If I don’t make it, then I don’t make it. But atleast Williamsport will remember me, and what I tried to do for them. Cuff is very aware of the stereo types that go along with his genre of music. He tries to ignore the critics who just label him as another GANGSTA. Born and bred on the streets, he said in a past interview with Sun Gazette, "I wouldn’t say my music is GANGSTA, but people do. If you lived and hung out where I do, you wouldn’t be rapping about happy stuff either. It’s not happy, it’s reality. Born in Williamsport, Cuff moved to Arizona at the age of 6. He recalled when he was younger listening to Eazy-E ( gangsta rap ). Now with the release of his latest CD, “Exclusive 8,” Miztasand explores all types of genres: from Rap to R&B and even a little rock on a remix of Audio Slaves track “ALONE”. When asked where his inspiration comes from for writing his music, he answered very curt and bluntly. The truth.“he said.”that’s exactly what my music is. The Truth! I’m tired of just being another statistic, aint you! If not, lock my door on your way out. Thankx
