About Mike Warren

Portrait of Mike Warren
The past is gone...the future, unknown...thats why it's called the present...its such a gift
I am a 28 year old, self taught musician, I have always been around music, I started playing the drums around 8 or 9 and picked up the guitar around 16, keyboard/piano, Conga's and Banjo around 19, Bass and Harmonica around 20, Flute and Mandolin around 22, Violin and Digereedo around 24, Lap Harp around 26, and am quite proficient at all of them, and excel at most.

I tried the whole band thing from about 6-10 years ago, but the "bands" would only last long enough for peoples heads to pop, they would loose their way, or some other type of neurological disorder/problem (alcohol), and eventually a slow "break-up" would follow. After years of "pep talks" and saying everything is ok (when it wasn't) and the constant butt kissing to keep the "band morale" up, I just gave up, and guess what, so did everyone else!

So for the last 5 years I haven't hardly even played the guitar, I've been raising my kids and enjoying the "family" life This is my first try at a solo thing, I guess its my way of kinda getting back into the whole scene. My fingertips are still tender.

One of my older projects can be found on www.Garageband.com/artist/Praxxis, we finished 155th out of around ten thousand, but that was about 6 years ago.

I've also finished a couple of projects with Kalkutta and currently I'm working on a demo to submit for session work up and down the east coast, I got my foot in the door on that one, I'd rather get paid to be a musician than to be a show.

Also, I've recently been in contact with a drummer who stuck with me through all the BS and head trips of the earlier days, he had sold his drum kit years ago, but recently bought himself another one, so who knows...

I've died as a mineral and became a plant...

I've died as a plant and became an animal...

I've died as an animal and became a man... why should I fear death, when has IT EVER made me less...

and from this life I will go... but to only god's form shall I know no end.

Hey Mike, just spent time listening to your acoustic, and electric instrumental work, you are gifted!!!!!
I think I could sit by your path and listen to your acoustic playing for hours...... wonderful!! To be young and self taught is amazing, and though I am too, I'm real basic, and I really admire your work, the very best to you, cathie

Thank you for your compliments & your honesty, Mike- We really appreciate it! We're in the middle of our pre-production for our new album. Our internet isn't very fast at our studio, so unfortunately we can't upload all of our tracks. If you want to listen to our other music on our MySpace, the URL is www.myspace.com/veronicasveil. Happy-dark You're a very talented guitarist... I listened to Bron Y Aur and everyone was right- it's beautiful!

Thanks for the feedback, man. I actually had my entire kit mic'd up, but we had our friend produce the EP, and he just didn't do such a great job mixing and mastering. And for some reason, the whole EP came out really quiet.
